Digital Syndrome

2017 - Cast Iron and Cast bronze

'Digital Syndrome' is a continuing series of work exploring how a 3D objects changes from being transferred between digital and physical space. I started with a 3D digital object of some primitive shapes made to look like a simple bust. This was created in layers of hand cut cardboard and cast into iron. The second iteration was derived from photogrammetry of this iron cast, which was then 3d printed and cast into bronze. I intend for this series to continue with a few more iterations in different materials. The result will show the consequence of an object the alternates between digital and physical states.
