Transmute Era (Iron)

'Transmute Era' evolved into a series of works that pit molten metal against 3D printed PLA. Whereas bismuth and aluminium combined with the 3d print in previous iterations, molten iron obliterates the print and replaces nearly every detail of it. The decision to use a figural analogue gives the work narrative. Era is splayed across a huge lump of iron that has consumed its figure. The reaction of iron with the print leaves subtle traces in the metal, giving the piece another level of interest.
